The BernardUhdenJr.com website is a complete rebuild and modernization of my personal brand and professional identity online. Designed and developed from the ground up, the new site blends clean aesthetics, high-quality typography, and thoughtful UX with a laser-focused approach to speed, stability, and long-term maintainability.
This project was more than a redesign — it was an opportunity to showcase exactly how I build for clients: fast, modern, strategic, and future-proof.
Design & UX
The site features a minimal, contemporary look built around Inter and Inter Tight, paired with a cool blue palette consistent with my brand identity. Every section is intentionally structured to be clear, scannable, and conversion-friendly. The homepage introduces who I am, what I do, and who I help — without clutter or friction — while deeper pages highlight my services, recent projects, and in-depth industry insights.
Smart Tech Stack
The build uses the Kadence Theme Pro framework with Kadence Blocks Pro as the main layout engine. Elementor Pro is used selectively — only for the areas where it genuinely adds value (e.g., custom templates, dynamic designs, the contact form). This hybrid approach delivers precision and creative control without sacrificing performance.
Performance & Optimization
Performance was a core priority from day one, and the results reflect that. The new site consistently scores 98–100 on mobile and 100 across the board on desktop in PageSpeed Insights — without caching enabled. Font loading was optimized with self-hosted Inter and Inter Tight. Images use AVIF/WebP and are compression-optimized. Scripts and styles are lean, clean, and efficiently loaded.
The end result is a site that feels instant — the page transitions, interactions, search results, and modal performance demonstrate just how far modern WordPress can go when built intentionally.
Accessibility & Best Practices
The site incorporates my custom accessibility tweaks plugin to fix common Elementor and WordPress ARIA issues, improve navigation roles, and enhance screen-reader clarity. Focus states, keyboard navigation, and contrast ratios were adjusted for a smoother, more inclusive experience.
